Limassol-based Columbia Shipmanagement and Marlow Navigation, two of the largest ship management firms in the world, have announced their intention to merge, a topic which has drawn considerable attention among the maritime world. Mark O’Neil, President of Columbia Shipmanagement, on the company’s merger with Marlow Navigation and future CEO of the new entity, Columbia Marlow Shipmanagement and Maritime Services, spoke to GOLD about the efficiencies to be achieved following the merger, expansion into new maritime services and the digitalisation of the shipping sector.
