EAC Operational Separation to be Implemented on December 1st

The operational separation of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus will be implemented on December 1st, Andreas Poulikkas, Chairman of the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA), has announced.

According to the Cyprus News Agency, Poulikkas presented to Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades the Authority`s Annual Report for 2015, which includes the Annual Report of the Cyprus Transmission System Operator (TSO).

CERA took important decisions in 2015 on the electricity market model and the tariffs, “decisions that will take Cyprus to a new energy era, the era of the Energy Union, as it was recently announced by the European Commission” CERA Chairman told the press after his meeting with the President.

Poulikkas said that the logistical and operational separation of the Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC) “is in the final stages”, adding that the operational separation will be implemented on the 1st December.
