HB: Cypriot Economy Enters Sustainable Growth Path

Hellenic Bank assesses that Cyprus' macroeconomic outlook is positive and is accompanied by a significant increase in real gross domestic product in the first half of 2016, the reduction in unemployment and further improvement of key domestic indicators since the beginning of the year. The economy is expected to grow by 2.6% in 2016 and 2.8% in 2017. The pick-up in domestic demand is expected to lead to further improvement in labor market conditions in the coming months. On the other hand, inflation is expected to remain low.
