Anastasiades Discusses Aphrodite Gas Field Developments with Energy Companies

The latest developments regarding the exploitation of Aphrodite gas field in Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) were examined during a meeting Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades had on September 1 with delegations of the companies comprising the consortium which has the concession on block 12 of Cyprus’ EEZ, namely Noble, Shell and Delek, the Cyprus News Agency reports.
In statements after the meeting, which he attended, Energy Minister Yiorgos Lakkotrypis said they discussed existing challenges as regards international oil prices and generally the hydrocarbons market.
“We have agreed that we will move on, we will speed up (the process) and find the best ways to exploit Aphrodite gas field towards the Egyptian market, following the (Egyptian) Petroleum Minister`s visit to Cyprus,” he added.
