Demetriades: Shipping Continues To Be the Steam Engine of World Economy

Cypriot Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Marios Demetriades has expressed the point of view that despite the crisis, shipping continues to be the steam engine of the world economy, Cyprus News Agency reports.
Demetriades who, according to an official press release, was addressing on September 13, the International Maritime Forum, in Batumi, Georgia, pointed out that the Cyprus Ship Registry “ranks among the leading ship registries internationally and has the third largest merchant fleet within the European Union.”
