Kasoulides to Meet His UAE Counterpart to Review Bilateral Ties and Discuss Regional Concerns

United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be in Cyprus on June 11 for an official visit, during which he will discuss with his Cypriot counterpart Ioannis Kasoulides regional developments and security challenges, the Cyprus News Agency reports.

The two Ministers will also discuss EU – Gulf relations and ways to deepen bilateral ties. At the same time he will be briefed on recent developments in efforts to solve the Cyprus problem.
Cyprus is Sheikh Abdullah`s first stop in a series of visits in European capitals, an official press release says.

During official talks with the Cypriot Foreign Minister “the two Ministers will exchange views on regional developments, security challenges and EU relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council."
Minister Kasoulides, the press release says, will brief the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem, adding that bilateral relations will be reviewed, and ways to further deepen them will be examined.

Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah will be received by the President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades.
Later in the evening, the official inauguration ceremony of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Nicosia will be held, in the presence of the President of the Republic, the press release concludes.
