Thoughts on the Eurozone Banking Union

  It has been just over a year since the official launch of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) –the foundational pillar of Eurozone’s Banking Union.  A few days ago, the second pillar, the Single Resolution Mechanism (SRM) also came into play.  With these two major undertakings completed the Banking Union is very much a reality albeit perhaps too early to call it a success.
