Anastasiades: Bills for Deputy Ministries to be Put Before Cabinet Soon

  The bills for the establishment of three Deputy Ministries in Cyprus (Tourism, Development and Shipping) will be put before the Cabinet for approval soon, the President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades has said, at the General Assembly of the Association of Large Investment Projects. 

The President`s speech was read by Constantinos Petrides, Deputy Minister to the President.

The President also announced that a visa collection centre will open early November in Shanghai, following the one which operates in Beijing. He said that in 2017, three more centres will be put in operation, the Cyprus News Agency reports.

In his speech he pledged that the Government remains committed in transforming Cyprus into a stable, secure and attractive investment destination.

President Anastasiades also referred to the reforms underway by the Government , pointing out that the aim , inter alia, is to implement a development policy with the establishment of three Deputy Ministries with expand responsibilities for the sectors of tourism and shipping.

The President also spoke about the improvement and modernization of Cyprus` tax system, the introduction of e-government and the efforts to reform of local administration.

In his speech, the President of the Association, Andreas Demetriades said that the execution of major development projects that are now pending, will be a catalyst to enhance the development process and the creation of new jobs.

He also spoke of the need to modernise various structures and practices in the public service.
